Sumatra - Gayo
Sumatra is one of the largest islands in Indonesia known for its tropical forest biodiversity but also from its farming products including Coffee. Sumatra is well known for its coffee tradition from one generation to another up till now. The ideal climate conditions (temperature, altitude, availability of the tropical forested mountains) provides nurturing conditions for coffee plantation to grow in a very fertile conditions in this island.
Our partnership at origin
One of homes Arabica Coffee in Sumatra is located in the North part of Sumatra, Aceh, particularly Gayo area.
Gayo highland is located, Central Aceh, Sumatra-Indonesia. Gayo highland offer a high yield conditions which is able to produce a unique coffee taste & exquisite in taste with good /full body yet soft or low acidity in the mouth.
Due this unique taste, Gayo is also well known as one of the iconic coffee region in Indonesia for many years.
As part of their commitment to community development, our local producer Le Gayo works inclusively with local farmers, including activities that empower women farmers who play a key role in hand-sorting and selecting fully ripe coffee cherries. All cherries are harvested and sorted by hand, ensuring quality and traceability from the very beginning.
Through this close collaboration, we are able to stay connected to origin, support responsible farming practices, and share an authentic expression of Gayo coffee.

GAYO BLACK presents the classic character of Gayo coffee: structured, full-bodied, and expressive. The cup shows high intensity with notes of chocolate and caramel, supported by a rounded mouthfeel and low, gentle acidity.This coffee is processed using the semi-washed method, a traditional approach widely used in Sumatra. The process preserves local coffee-making traditions while contributing to the depth and weight typical of Gayo profiles. Cupping score: 84–85

GAYO RED offers a fresh expression of Gayo coffee, combining the region’s characteristic structure and body with brighter, fruit-forward notes. The cup remains well balanced and expressive, with added sweetness and gentle acidity.This coffee is processed using the red honey method, which allows some fruit mucilage to remain during drying. The result is a profile that adds fruit and sweetness while preserving the depth and intensity typical of Gayo coffees. Cupping score: 84–85

GAYO GOLD presents a brighter and more expressive side of Gayo coffee. The cup highlights tropical fruit notes and sweetness, layered with a subtle chocolate undertone. Despite its livelier profile, the coffee remains balanced and grounded in the characteristic structure of Gayo.This coffee is produced using an extended anaerobic fermentation. By carefully controlling fermentation and drying, the process enhances fruit expression and sweetness while maintaining clarity and depth in the cup.Cupping score: 84–85
